Just wanted to share these pictures of Figgy.  They were taken in his last couple of days.  L

This is Figgy when he finally returned home after being hospitalized for three days!  The poor cat was not happy with us, but it was so nice to have him home with us again.  Little did we know just how hard it was going to be to get him to do normal things - like eat.

Jamie is showing here how much of a trooper Figgy was, with his bandage over where his IV was.  God, he looks so good here!

This was twelve short days before we had to let him go.

This was on the 23rd.  The day before we took Figgy to his final vet visit.  What I love about this picture is that although he was not doing well and his last pictures looked so bad, it seems as though he put on a happy face for this picture.  Kind of like, "I will smile and be happy for this picture, so they won't remember me for how sick I was, but for how happy I was."  I'm sure that sounds weird, but it makes perfect sense to me.  I'm sure the happy face is hard to see, but when you're holding the picture in your hand, you can see the light in his eyes and the smile on his face.

Actually, it kind of looks like a look of adoration.  "Thank you for doing everything that you could.  I know you tried everything."

All these pictures were so hard to look at, as they came a month after we had lost him.  This is a picture you can look at two different ways.  You can clearly see in Figgy's face, just how sick he was.  What I saw, however, the first time I looked at it, was Figgy's face surrounded by all white.  We were constantly covering him up because the vet told us to keep him warm.  He is laying on our bed here, on our white sheets.  I have him covered up with one of my white T-shirts.  What I see when I look at this picture is my "Angel" Figgy.  Figgy after us.  It looks like Figgy is just lying on a big Fluffy cloud.  However, I hope his face looks a lot happier now while on that cloud.  What this represented to me is what Figgy is doing now after us.  It's weird to explain.  But it just makes me feel better.  Let's just go with that.

This is a very hard one for me to look at.  Of course I'm smiling, but I was so very far from being happy.  I was trying desperately to make our last "family" photo with Figgy be a happy one.  It didn't come out that way.  You can tell that by taking one look at Jamie's face.

I have my coat on, Figgy's in his sweater.  This was taken right before we left....

Figgy... in our lives for eight very, very short months.

July 16, 2003 - March 24, 2004

Figgy had many years before us though.  All we know is the various things we've heard.  He was anywhere from 8 - 18.  Yes, a very big difference, but at least he got to live a happy life before us and bless our lives with his presence.

 Figgy would appreciate it if
you would let him know
that you stopped by and
looked through his pictures
by signing his Guestbook.
