My Dreams
Friday, March 8, 2013

I had a dream last night that I was up in the attic (a real attic - not just a storage space) and Animal was there as well.  I don't remember all that was happening, except that there were traps up there holding animals and he tried to get to a squirrel.  He finally got the squirrel, which then turned into a black cat without a tail.  I was very upset at his trying to hurt this squirrel / cat, but seemed to be able to do very little to stop him.

Interpretation:

To see an attic in your dream represents hidden memories or repressed thoughts that are being revealed. It also symbolizes your mind, spirituality, and your connection to the higher Self. Alternatively, it signifies difficulties in your life that may hinder you from attaining your goals and aspirations. However, after a long period of struggle, you will overcome these difficulties.

To see a cat in your dream symbolizes an independent spirit, feminine sexuality, creativity, and power.

If you see a cat with no tail, then it signifies a loss of independence and lack of freedom.

To see a black cat in your dream indicates that you are experiencing some fear in using your psychic abilities and believing in your intuition. You may erroneously associate the black cat with evil, destruction, and bad luck.

To see a squirrel in your dream indicates that you are involved in a loveless, pointless relationship or an unprofitable business project. You are pursuing empty and fruitless endeavors. Alternatively, seeing a squirrel in your dream suggests that you are hoarding something. You are holding on to too much and need to learn to let go. On the other hand, a squirrel means that you need to reserve your time and energy.

I continue to be surprised by the dreams that tell me I'm struggling, dealing with too much, need to let things go, etc.  Every time I believe it has to do with my job.  But even in my waking life, I don't think I feel that overwhelmed.  I'm beginning to wonder if the dreams are pointing to another situation that I have not acknowledged, and maybe that's why the dreams continue, but I cannot imagine what the other situation is.  Maybe it's Houdini? (Training him has been slow going, he continues to get into fights with Nimmi, he continues to pee, and today he lunged at Shadow.  We were also told at training that we need to deal with his aggressiveness otherwise he will bite someone.)  Fostering?  Feeling like I'm not getting enough help at home?  I continue to remain confused in this aspect.  I hope the attic aspect is true and that I will overcome the difficulties... soon!

(I asked for a co-workers thoughts and got this:  "Maybe you're hoarding repressed thoughts and memories and they are holding you back and keeping you from true freedom.")

Editing to add:  I am going through a health issue right now, with needing to see a hematologist and online research showing possible cancer, leukemia, etc.  In my waking life, I am not really concerned about this and assume it will work itself out and that I am not sick.  But perhaps my subconcious is feeling overwhelmed by this?  Looking back and reading the interpretations, this health conern fits in really well.  Repressed thoughts are coming out to tell me that I'm more concerned than I think.  Loss of independence and freedom - possibly related?  Could be, if I am really sick.  Or maybe I'm fearful that I am sick, which would lead to loss of independence and freedom.  Fear in believing my intution (although I believe I am fine, perhaps I don't believe it as much as I think I do?), bad luck.  And lastly, I need to reserve my energy.  This could go either way with my being sick or not being sick.  We'll have to see how things pan out with the doctor, I guess.
